JDH Wealth Management recently took a firm retreat to San Diego in southern California. The retreat was a great time to discuss different topics relating to JDH… and since we were in sunny San Diego, we decided to have a little fun with our families as well!
Can you blame us?
The flight down to San Diego was a smooth ride. Rebekah and Daniel were very thankful as it was their first time on a plane with both Caleb and Hannah. The kids all enjoyed the flight, but we suspect that no one enjoyed the time more than Tim. Once we arrived in So Cal the group headed over to our accommodations. The kids became quick friends and trotted off to the playground while the rest of the group took in the San Diego views.

The next day, Connor – Matt and Allison’s oldest son – was leading the pack at Legoland. As a Lego fan and a ride enthusiast, Connor was intent on leaving no part of the park unvisited. The day started out at Coastersaurus and a roaring good time was had by all. Matt and Tim especially enjoyed the Safari Trek. (Check out the pictures!) Carolina and Caleb took a spin in their own Lego cars at the Junior Driving School. Everyone was in awe at the miniature Lego cities built in the middle of the park – New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and San Francisco among others. Very impressive! The Dragon Coaster was a favorite. Allison, Connor, and Tim zoomed around this ride at least three times, if not more! The Lost Kingdom Adventure brought out the competition as we blasted targets with laser guns through the ride. In the front vehicle Connor took the prize both times through. Daniel won the first round in the second car, but Rebekah edged him out in round two. Tim was certain that his gun was broken. We rounded out the day on the Lego Coast Cruise, an easy ride around Lego Bay – and even Hannah got to enjoy this last ride of the day!

Tim, Matt, and Rebekah did spend some time in JDH meetings discussing various topics. Discussions included a look ahead at 2014 for JDH Wealth. We are excited about the upcoming year! Matt and Allison also had the opportunity to visit with a client who lives in the area and had a wonderful time.
The group enjoyed some relaxing time roasting marshmallows, a visit to Rancho Santa Fe, a look at Matt and Allison’s old stomping grounds, meals at local eateries, cupcakes, and time on the beach, of course!

JDH Meetings
Our final day was spent at SeaWorld and was enjoyed by the whole crew. Penguins, sharks, whales… so many interesting and fascinating animals! The shows were a blast and the kids loved watching the orcas and dolphins jump and swim through the water. Tim and Leigh Anne also enjoyed the sea lion show. They confessed that they thought it was the most entertaining of the day. Was it the sea lion comedy team? Or perhaps it was the animals dancing to Gangnam Style? The big hit was the Journey to Atlantis ride. The whole Delaney crew gets the award for most times on the ride… but a special award goes to Leigh Anne for getting the most wet!

All in all it was a great time to spend with our JDH family!
